Tea Ceremony - Fri, 17th Oct

Guests are asked to arrive by 9.30am, when the ceremony commences.

Join us for our Chinese Tea Ceremony on Friday morning, a treasured tradition dating back centuries. You are invited to join us in the morning as our bridal party participates in "door games" – a fun tradition where the bridesmaids create challenges for the groom and his groomsmen to prove his worthiness to marry the bride. Expect lots of laughs as Dave and his groomsmen undertake the trials, not to be missed!

During the tea ceremony itself, we will honour our families by serving tea as a symbol of respect, gratitude, and the merging of two families. As we kneel before our elders and offer them tea, they will in turn bestow blessings and gifts — representing their wisdom, support, and the passing down of family values.

For our Australian friends and family unfamiliar with these traditions, the door games and tea ceremony are acknowledgments of family roots and the foundation upon which our marriage will be built. The tea symbolises the life we hope to create together, while the act of serving represents our commitment to honour those who came before us.

Following the ceremony, we invite you to relax, mingle, and celebrate with lunch and drinks provided. Feel free to take a refreshing dip in the pool and get to know our extended families and friends ahead of the reception on Saturday evening.

Smart casual attire suggested.

Garden Reception - Sat, 18 Oct

Guests are asked to arrive between 4.30-5pm, for welcome drinks.

Join us on Saturday evening as the sun sets on our wedding weekend. We invite you to celebrate with us at the historic STG Tea House for our formal wedding reception and dinner. Under the twinkling night sky of Ipoh, we'll toast to our next chapter with an evening of delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and dancing.

Formal attire requested.
